Canine Companions for Independence
Chief Development Officer

Barbara Barrow is the chief development officer of Canine Companions for Independence. Canine Companions is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.

Prior to Canine Companions, Barbara worked for the American Heart Association's Inland Empire Division, the San Diego State University (SDSU) Research Foundation and the SDSU Alumni Association. Before entering the non-profit sector, Barbara played golf on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour for ten years.

Barbara shares her heart and her home with a Schnauzer named Bonnie, an Australian Shepherd mix named Jaxon and a Black Labrador named Mo.
