Animal Defense League
Volunteer and Community Relations Manager

Joely was raised on a ranch in Tennessee, where she and her sisters spent most of their time running around the woods with their dogs leading the way. Animals have always played an important part in her life, being more like family than pets.

Joely graduated with a Broadcast Journalism degree from The University of Memphis and spent several years as a television news producer. Although she loved it, she loved working with animals even more. She jumped at the chance to make a switch by joining the Animal Defense League (ADL) in San Antonio in 2012, as the Volunteer and Community Relations Manager.

Joely and her husband Rikel share their home with their two adorable dachshunds, Lars and Anna; Tyler, the feisty rescue dog who they affectionately describe as a "frankenmutt;" and Scooby, their energetic ADL alum who always makes them smile.
