I was born December, 1928, in Hamtramck, Michigan, graduated from high school ,January 1947, and went to work at the Mound Road Dodge Truck plant in Warren Michigan.I worked as a “Drive-Off Man” on the afternoon shift. The work was boring so I quit and joined the army; I knew I would be drafted anyway.
My four years in the army were in the Ordnance Corps, and I was stationed at Fort Knox KY, Atlanta Ordnance Depot, Camp Stoneman California, GHQ in Toyko Japan, Fort Riley Kansas, and fort Leonard Wood Missouri. I was discharged at Fort Leonard on August 11th 1951.
Upon the completion of my military service I enrolled at Wayne State University in the school of Public Administration, my major was-Personnel Administration. I graduated with a BA degree in Jan. 1955.
In August 1954, I married Bernadine Wiegers of Clawson MI. and in the next ten years we had seven children, six boys and one girl. I retired from Chrysler in Dec 1987.
