Ama Agyemang earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Akron in Ohio and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Michigan State University.
She is the Coordinator for the Kinship Care Resource Center through the School of Social Work at Michigan State University. Her areas of specialization include kinship care families with a concentration on grandparents raising grandchildren, psychosocial issues of kinship families, and legal and legislative polices affecting kinship care in the state of Michigan.
As a coordinator for the Michigan State University Kinship Care Resource Center, Ms. Agyemang conducts local and statewide community outreach activities.
She serves as a consultant to the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging to conduct presentations and trainings for the Area Agency on Aging and social service providers working with kinship families. She facilitates the Kinship Care Coalition, the Kinship Legislative Task Force group, and the Maple Hill Kinship Care Support Group.
