I think it is so sad some mothers are only remembered at this time and not all the time for they are surely a blessing . God said to honor them and we will be blessed. Iam blessed to still have my mother , daily she blesses me with her wisdom ,love,and lot of laughter.

You sound like a wonderful son. Your mother is very blessed to have you for a son. I agree that we should honor our mothers and fathers everyday. However, in this day and age that doesn't happen. So by having a special day for both mothers and fathers some (not all) do make a special effort to remember them. I do believe that originally it was Hallmark that pushed the then president to make the second Sunday in May as Mothers day and the second Sunday in June as Fathers day.
